What a GREAT question… answer it honestly now.
How committed are you to succeess? Really!
History has show incredible commitments from leaders.
Do you know why the Mongolian Army NEVER lost a battle?
Being nomadic, these brave men would bring EVERTHING they owned to the battlefield, and I mean EVERTHING! The would bring all personal belongings and their entire families (yes, all women and children). Imagine that! Fighting for it all. Fighting knowing that if you were to fall it would cost the lives of your wife and children. Wow! I would not want to fight an army with that commitment level.
The invading army of William the Conqueror burned their own ships in 1066, at the Battle of Hastings. It sent a very clear message. The message was we will not reteat, because we cannot retreat. So the the only option was to fight. Do you know what the outcome was? William defeated King Harold in that battle.
Also, Hernado Cortez had all but one of his ships destroyed after landing in Mexico at Veracruz. This startegy obviously prevented mutany and raised the commitment level of his men. Nothing is more powerful then the human instinct of survival.
What is the common mantra here?
COMMITMENT!
Are you REALLY commited to things and people in your life that you think you are?
Think about perhaps a business project you are working. Listen to your internal dialog. What is it saying? Is it saying well “if it works, it works,” if not, “no big deal.” Are you just poking at life with a stick?
Analyze your commitments today!
DECOMMIT to the things or people you need to let go of. THIS IS A CRITICAL STEP! It will take a ton of weight off your shoulders.
Then, RECOMMIT to the things and people that mean the most.
Remember COMMITMENT is the SECRET TO SUCCESS…
